The iPhone developer and hacker iH8sn0w has just teased a screenshot of Sn0wbreeze 2.2 with a new “Baseband Preservation Mode”. This new mode will enable current iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G users to preserve their baseband while upgrading to iOS 4.2.1 so that they can unlock using existing version of Ultrasn0w.
The United States government today has announced that jailbreaking and unlocking iPhones, rooting of Android phones and ripping DVDs (for educational purposes) is completely legal as long as they are not violating copyright law. It has been confirmed by an Apple Store employee that Apple will now be selling iPhones to customers without having to purchase an AT&T plan. While analyzing their website logs, BGR has found out something very interesting, related to the upcoming iPhone OS firmware release. Their server logs have clearly shown existence of both iPhone 3.1.3, and the major release - the iPhone 4.0 firmware. While we don't know what new features the new firmware will offer, one thing is for sure that iPhone 3.1.3 firmware is only going to be a minor release for bug fixes and patches.
