As a company, Apple has been firmly stealing the world-wide headlines over the last few days. The company's stock has fallen amid rumors of lack of demand for the iPhone 5, Exxon Mobile has reclaimed their position ahead of Apple as the world's most valuable publicly-traded company and of course the late iconic co-founder of the company has been top of the discussions list thanks to the debuting of the jOBS biopic at the Sundance Festival in Utah. If you had any trepidation about Ashton Kutcher pulling off the Steve Jobs role, then the comparison picture tweeted from Kutcher's official Twitter account should definitely lay those fears to rest.
As most of you will know by now, Hollywood star Ashton Kutcher will be playing the late, great Steve Jobs in a movie about the Apple co-founder, and although we've seen stills of Kutcher clad in his Jobs get-up, we finally have the opportunity to see him in action. In a clip courtesy of EntertainmentWeekly, he's seen having a heated debate with Josh Gad, who plays Steve Wozniak in the jOBS movie, and although it's only a short snippet, it gives a general idea as to how both actors represent their respective characters.
Upon his untimely passing last year to pancreatic cancer, it was no secret that Steve Jobs died a wealthy man. Depending on which source you read, his net worth was said to have been in the region of seven billion dollars. Yet, the former CEO of the world's valuable company was never renowned for living lavishly. At keynote speeches, a bespectacled Jobs was seen in Levi Strauss 501 jeans, a polo neck, and New Balance trainers, so it may come as something of a surprise that he commissioned the building of a yacht in Amsterdam. As reported by Reuters today however, said yacht Steve Jobs has now been impounded in the Dutch capital, with designer Philippe Starck claiming he has not been paid all of his dues.
Apple's Safari browser takes pride of place on every single Mac, iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on the market, and although it is perhaps not as strong in terms of features as the likes of Google's Chrome or Firefox by Mozilla, it's the Web-surfing utility of choice to many. The thought process behind the naming makes complete sense, as it offers users something of a Safari across adventurous - sometimes dangerous - but immensely informative medium of the World Wide Web. It has emerged, however, that Apple's flagship browser was frighteningly close to being given the less flattering name of "Freedom" which, as well as alluding to countless famous songs, might well have rendered Apple the subject of ridicule.
Thinking about the late Steve Jobs generally conjures up images of him parading around the stage of Moscone Center wearing his blue trademark jeans and black turtle neck jumper ensemble while showing off the latest Apple creation with his infectious enthusiasm. While a large portion of his professional life was entirely dedicated to finding Apple and then ultimately spearheading the company's resurgence from Silicon Valley obscurity, Pixar is attempting to ensure that his other career successes aren't forgotten by renaming their main building in honor of him.
If you've ever wondered what a boat would look like if it had Steve Jobs fingerprints all over it, then feast your eyes upon this beauty - the video below shows what is believed to be Steve Jobs' own yacht, recently built by a company in Holland.

It has been suggested over the past year or so that the iPhone 5 was the last device to receive input from late Steve Jobs. Moreover, it has also been said that it was Jobs' last project, which he worked on as the rest of the company focused on the largely unchanged iPhone 4S, and a feature-length post over at Businessweek sheds some light on this.
Last week, we notified you of the Steve Jobs waxwork set to be arriving at the Hong Kong Branch of Madame Tussauds, and today, we've got a video of the fully finished statue. Uncannily similar to Jobs in many of his public appearances, it includes those trademark New Balance trainers, Levi Strauss 501 Jeans, and the turtle-neck jumper he was always dressed in.
