Studies are everywhere, and chances are if you look hard enough you can find a study on just about anything, and to support your particular point of view. It's the beauty of the internet!
I guess it was only a matter of time until we started seeing applications and programs being released for other operating systems which took inspiration from Siri, the new personal assistant on the Apple iPhone 4S. The Siri intelligent voice analysis software has been extremely well received by consumers and is one of the main selling points of the 4S moniker-bearing device.
Since the public release of iOS 5 in October, a number of tweaks have appeared on Cydia which offer the ability to hook into iOS 5-only functions, with the most popular by far being the the new Notification Center. I can only assume most developers have been literally chomping at the bit to put their skills to the test in order to see what they can do with the new Siri technology.
Well known and respected developer chpwn has finally released first legal Siri port to public for older generation iOS devices. Dubbed as Spire, the port allows iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G/3G and first-gen iPad users, jailbroken on iOS 5, to run Siri, which has official been available only for iPhone 4S users.
I take my white iPhone 4 everywhere I go. Usually when it’s within sight of someone I am always asked if it’s the new model: “Is that the 4G or the new 4GS?”, “No,” I reply, “It’s the 4; and the new one is called a 4S.” Smile.
By nature, I am not a betting man. However, If I was I would be willing to bet that the majority of people reading this would have in no way suspected to see a trailer containing an evil version of Apples new personal assistant Siri. I would go even further in my assumptions by stating that no one would ever expect a Siri related post that draws comparison to the 1983 superhero movie Superman 3.
Everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit, with less than a week to go before the big day and the inevitable over eating that it always entails.
Since the launch of the iPhone 4S in October this year, it seems that a week cannot pass by without new rumors and speculation emerging regarding the release of a new Siri port allowing users of older generation devices to take advantage of the advanced features that the Apple’s new personal assistant offers. Some of the well publicized solutions have been nothing more than a port of the Siri GUI, while others have been genuine working hacks which unfortunately require the illegal distribution of files to make it a sustainable solution for the masses.
Siri modding and porting has been aplenty over the course of the last two months, with modders, developers and spectators collectively keeping a watchful eye on Apple's voice-recognition technology.
Well folks, it doesn't really get anymore random, weird or indeed wonderful than this. Coming out of the Music Hack Day 2011 in London, this video shows one iPhone 4S and Siri laying down some beats ala Notorious B.I.G.. The track of choice? Hypnotize, and we're sure you'll be hypnotized by the performance, too.
