iPhone developer and hacker ih8sn0w has released Sn0wbreeze 2.2 (aka PwnageTool for Windows) for creating iOS 4.2.1 custom firmware files on Windows. Just like the recently released PwnageTool for Mac, Sn0wbreeze 2.2 also incorporates the kernel based GreenPois0n exploit for untethered 4.2.1 jailbreak.
Sn0wbreeze 2.1 for iOS 4.1 / 3.2.2 is now available for download. If any of the existing iOS 4.1 jailbreak tools didn’t work for you, you can give Sn0wbreeze 2.1 a try! For those of you who don’t know, like PwnageTool for Mac, Sn0wbreeze for Windows can be used to create custom firmware files for iOS 4.1 without the upgraded baseband so that you can unlock iOS 4.1 (05.13.04 baseband) with existing version of Ultrasn0w.
iPhone developer and hacker iH8sn0w has shared more screenshots from the upcoming version of Sn0wbreeze which is going to support almost all iOS based devices. For those of you who don’t know, Sn0wbreeze for Windows, like PwnageTool for Mac, can create custom firmware files without the upgraded baseband so that you can unlock your phone using the existing version of Ultrasn0w.
iH8sn0w’s Sn0wbreeze 1.6 is almost ready for primetime use. He will release it in a day or two. For those of you who don't know, Sn0wbreeze 1.6 is by the same developer who is behind other popular iPhone jailbreak tools such as sn0wbreeze for iPhone 3.1.3, f0recast and BlackBreeze.
The developer of sn0wbreeze has released final teaser video of sn0wbreeze which shows off a new feature which will be included when the final version is released this Thursday. This feature enables jailbroken iPhone and iPod touch users to change their boot logos without having to wipe-out anything. This method is referred to as NOR-only IPSW flashing. Video after the jump.
Sn0wbreeze like blackra1n, redsn0w and PwnageTool is yet another jailbreaking tool for iPhone and iPod touch which can be used to create custom .ipsw files. But unlike the PwnageTool, Sn0wbreeze is fully compatible to work with Windows 7/Vista and XP machines. If for some reason the earlier mentioned tools didn't work for you, you can give Sn0wbreeze a try and see if it helps in jailbreaking your iPhone with a custom .ipsw file.
