The wait is almost over for those who have been anxiously anticipating the release of the jOBS biopic starring Ashton Kutcher. We've been kept regularly informed about the progress of the movie from the beginning of shooting, with the odd official image being released along the way to show exactly how convincing Kutcher will be in his portrayal of the iconic Apple co-founder.
jOBS, one of two movies based on and around the life of one Steve Jobs, is set to release later this year, and to mark the occasion, the movie's leading actors Ashton Kutcher and Josh Gad will kick off Macworld next week. The movie was the first to be announced, and Kutcher (Jobs) and Gad (Steve Wozniak) will be representing two of the Cupertino company's co-founders, and their impromptu visit to the annual Macworld/iWorld conference will no doubt ramp up intrigue in jOBS prior to its April release.
Angry Birds started off as nothing more than a catchy, quirky title for iOS, but in a few short years, has quickly evolved into a billion-dollar franchise. With five titles having now been released on a number of platforms, and products ranging from speakers and phone covers to plush toys, it was only a matter of time before the story of how the birds avenged the pigs would hit the box office. Announced today, an official Angry Birds movie will arrive at some point in 2016, and John Cohen, producer behind hit flicks such as Despicable Me, will oversee the production of the Rovio-funded movie.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I happen to enjoy a tale of good overcoming evil and watching the light shine through the darkness as a new dawn begins. My need to see a happy ending means that I tend to watch movies that take the viewer through a roller-coaster ride of emotions that ultimately ends off with a positive ending, which could be partly why I love movie adaptations of comic books so much. One of the biggest movies of this year was undoubtedly The Dark Knight Rises and the release of the new Blue-ray trailer confirms that we should be good for a December 3rd high-definition release onto DVD.
After a successful run in cinemas, The Avengers is all set to release on Blu-ray in late September. To complement the experience, Marvel Entertainment has released an companion app. Check it out after the jump.
Sony's biopic of Steve Jobs' life is at production stage, and although some details have yet to be confirmed, it has been revealed that the movie will be written by Aaron Sorkin, and will benefit from the insight of Apple co-founder-turned-Lumia-fanboy Steve Wozniak, often referred to simply as "Woz". The guy who started Apple along with Jobs in a garage some 35 years ago, he would seem as apt a figure as any to offer guidance to Sorkin, who himself does his suitability stripes no harm with the likes of The Social Network to his name.
To celebrate the release of Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol in cinemas worldwide, Microsoft has released a cool Windows 7 theme on a mission to spice up those bland, plain desktops.
If you're a Batman fan - and let's be fair, aren't we all? - then you'll want to head on over to iTunes sooner rather than later, for Warner Bros has released the full trailer to the upcoming "The Dark Knight Rises" movie exclusively on Apple's online store.
Back in the DVD golden age, I can remember having a difficult decision to make, regarding DVDs of course and their dreaded players. DVDs were brand new tech (I'm showing my age again, aren't I?) and wanting to be at the front of the technological curve, I wanted to get my hands on a DVD player. Problem was, I knew those little plastic platters had a new-fangled region lock on them, and I didn't like it.
In a press release by Indian Television, it has been announced that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has teamed up with Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan to develop a game based on his upcoming, highly awaited film Ra.One.
