Well some more bad news for early adaptors of iPad 2 who wants to jailbreak their shiny new device. After the confirmation of Limera1n being patched in iPad 2’s bootrom, MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team has now confirmed that early testing of SHAtter shows that it has also been patched by Apple in iPad 2.
The iPhone developer and hacker iH8sn0w has confirmed today that Apple has patched Limera1n exploit in iPad 2.
Moments ago, Apple seeded iOS 4.2.6 to public for Verizon’s CDMA iPhone 4 ahead of its launch date, that is February 10th, 2011.
We have just been tipped off about the possible name for the next jailbreak by Geohot, called Rubyra1n. The domain Rubyra1n.com was registered by the iPhone hacker named George Hotz (aka geohot) on 27th March 2010.
Apple today has released iOS 4.2.1 GM for iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G, iPad and iPod touches. The iPhone Dev Team has just released an updated version 0.9.6b2 of Redsn0w which is based on Geohot’s limera1n exploit and it can jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPad (on iOS 3.2.2) and iPod touch 4G / 3G / 2G (Non MC Model only). Besides, this new version also offers custom boot land recovery logos for the older devices like iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) iPod touch 2G (Non MC), and iPhone 3G, along with the ability to let Windows users restore to a custom IPSW files that are cooked using PwnageTool for Mac.
Just a little heads up to inform you all that the iPhone Phonebook SIM card hacktivation trick has been completely blocked by Apple. The iPhone developer and hacker Sherif Hashim who first found this trick back in July has confirmed this on his Twitter account.
Chronic Dev Team has just released Mac OS X version of GreenPois0n tool which like the Windows and Linux version can jailbreak iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G / 3G and iPad on iOS 4.1 and iOS 3.2.2 respectively.
Just a couple of hours back, iPhone hacker MuscleNerd tweeted to say that he thinks that iPhone Dev Team has found a way to extend current untethered jailbreaking tools to work on all A4-processor based iOS devices.
