With Sn0wbreeze 1.6.1 for Windows, you can now create custom firmware files of iOS 4 which are already jailbroken just like what PwnageTool 4.0 / 4.01 can do on a Mac. Currently, only iPod touch 2G (non-MC model, and already jailbroken on anything other than Spirit) can be jailbroken on the newly released iOS 4. Both the iPod touch 2G (MC model) and iPod touch 3G requires a new exploit which is currently not available. So if you haven't already jailbroken your iPod touch 2G with Redsn0w, you can do so with sn0wbreeze 1.6.1 for 4.0.
The iPhone hacker behind sn0wbreeze, f0recast and BlackBreeze today accidently put up a picture on his twitter account, showing version 1.6 of sn0wbreeze which promises to jailbreak iPod touch 2G on iPhone OS 4. The picture in question was removed quickly but the folks at The Technopath were quick enough to grab the image for everyone to see.
You might have already heard or read by now that comex has lived up to his promised and has released Spirit – the untethered userland jailbreak which works on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. If other jailbreaking tools such as blackra1n, PwnageTool and sn0wbreeze didn't work for you, you can always give redsn0w a try to see if it solves all your problems.
