The popular media center client for Mac OS X and iOS devices has been successfully ported to the new Apple TV 2G ! So for those of you who have a Plex server running in your home, you can now “technically” stream media from Plex server on to your jailbroken 2nd-generation Apple TV.
The hackers from Chronic Dev-Team have posted a rather miniscule update on their official blog on the GreenPois0n tool. GreenPois0n is the tool that was initially going to jailbreak iOS 3.1.3 (iPhone) and iOS 3.2 (iPad) and is now expected to jailbreak iOS 4.1 soon.
Jailbreaking may have gone completely legal in the United States but that doesn’t stop Steve Jobs and Co. in their fight against unofficial / unauthorized use of iOS based devices. Apple today has applied for a new patent which will allow the Cupertino based company to remotely disable any iOS based device (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) against any unauthorized usage which is not supported by the company, such as “jailbreaking” and “unlocking”.
Yesterday, a court in United States ruled jailbreaking and unlocking iPhones as 100 percent legal as long as it does not violate any copyright laws. This decision was a blow for Apple who has always been against jailbreaking of iPhones. When asked about this ruling, Apple at the moment at least has adopted defensive strategy, saying that jailbreaking may have been declared as legal but it will still void your iPhone’s warranty with Apple.
