An Italian blog has got hold of the frame and screen of the upcoming iPhone 4G/HD from reliable sources, and they are calming it to be the real deal. There has been a few leaks in the past related to next iPhone’s screen. But the difference this time is that this one looks identical to the lost iPhone 4, which was recently reviewed and taken apart by Gizmodo.
The newly released iPhone OS 4 Beta 3 reveals ability to capture video at 1280x720 HD resolution instead of the standard 640x480 VGA res. which most phones of this era can capture video on. The following preset values found in some of the new API improvements in OS 4 suggests that the next iPhone might do HD video recording.
According to a report by The Chosum libo, the next Apple iPhone 4G / HD will feature a 5-megapixels camera from LG Innotek with LED flash. We have already heard similar rumors a number of times in the past that a 5MP camera with LED flash, along with a front-facing cam for video conferencing (via iChat) will be one of the many highlights of the next iPhone.
The guy who found the next Apple iPhone in a bar, and then reportedly sold it to Gawker Media for US $5000 has been identified by Wired as Brian Hogan. We had already posted earlier that Apple authorities approached Police to resolve the entire drama of the lost iPhone 4 prototype which also led to seizing of the Gizmodo's Editor computers.
Apple wasn’t kidding when they got Silicon Valley cops involved to investigate the lost iPhone HD/4G case. Last night, police entered Gizmodo’s editor-in-chief Jason Chen’s home (when he was away with wife) and held four computers and two servers in their custody and seized them. For those of you who don't know, Chen was the writer who wrote about the next Apple iPhone on Gizmodo.
Designer Anthony De Rosa of ADR Studio is back, this time with a design which has been inspired by the recently “lost/stolen” real next-gen iPhone which was reviewed and ripped apart by the folks at Gizmodo. Anthony explains his design as follows.
Before handing over the handset back to Apple, Gizmodo had a full dissection of the next-gen iPhone. They found out that it had larger battery – around 19% than that of iPhone 3GS, processor (whether A4 chip or not) couldn't be verified as the logic board was completely sealed by Apple, it had tons of screws and every component was shrunken down to accommodate the larger battery which now takes around half of the inside.
We all saw this coming didn't we? Apple apparently has sent an official letter to Gawker Media – the company which runs Gizmodo blog, requesting them to return their “secret” handset. The letter was signed by Bruce Sewell, the Senior Vice President & General Counsel of Apple Inc and can be seen as attached below.
The next-generation iPhone is expected to be unveiled in June at WWDC 2010 which will be held at Mascone Center in San Francisco. The real deal as we informed you earlier, has already been leaked in the wild.
It now seems like the new iPhone which Engadget got hold of from a bar in San Jose, California was indeed the real deal. Another gadget blog Gizmodo has now got their hands on the handset which they are said to have found from a bar in Redwood City. While we cant say for sure that this is the final design that Apple has zeroed upon, but the likelihood of this being the next-iPhone seems very high now as also confirmed by Apple critic John Gruber of Daring Fireball.
