Apples CEO Steve Jobs is all set to kick off his WWDC 10 keynote address in about an hour from now at San Francisco’s Moscone Center. The conference will mainly focus on iPhone development, iPhone OS 4, and the unveiling of the 4th-gen iPhone. Final version of OS X 10.6.4, Cloud based iTunes.com, Mac Mini, MacBook Air, Mac Pro refresh, iPad OS 3.3 / 3.2.1, Safari 5 and free version of MobileMe are some of the other things that we expect Apple to announce at the event.
WWDC 10 is only about 12 hours away now where Apple will unveil the next iPhone and what we have now is even more pictures leaked from Korea, showing the back panel, and other parts of the white model (video here) of the next-gen iPhone. The back panel case is similar to all the previous leaks that we have seen so far. Maybe someone in China, Vietnam or Korean region have got loads of these parts and they are selling it off to make loads of money right before the official announcement by Jobs.
According to the sources at BGR, there is high chance that the next Apple iPhone will go on sale nationwide on Friday, June 18th 2010. They have confirmed it through multiple AT&T store reps that since the sales quotas for this month are very high, what this means is that the iPhone 4G/HD is confirmed to launch sometime in June, not July.
Apple has started hanging banners outside San Francisco’s Moscone center in preparation for the upcoming WWDC 2010 conference which will be held here next week starting from June 7. The large iPhone apps-centric WWDC10 banner which was seen on the invitation cards has already been hung, alongside Apple logo outside the main conference center.
We are now really losing the count of how many of these prototypes have Apple lost aren't we? After those leaked metal frame shots of the new iPhone, now a Portuguese site has grabbed the metal frame which Apple has used to house the main interior components of the new iPhone. This is basically that middle unibody piece which will have glass (or plastic) top on each side.
Some folks over at a Czech Republic site have closely examined the screen of one of the leaked prototype models of the next-iPhone under microscope and they have found it to be much denser than the current-gen iPhone 3GS model. This close examination of the screen has also confirmed the IPS panel screen (like iPad) for the next iPhone, with a high-resolution of 960x640 pixels.
Though the whole leaked iPhone 4G / HD fiasco might’ve spoiled quite a lot of fun for some, but now according to this latest report by DigiTimes, Apple already has a backup design for their new iPhone 4G / HD which looks quite a lot like the current iPhone 3G/3GS design. This backup plan was kept in case if Apple had complications in mass producing the new design which we’ve already seen in the double-leak by Gizmodo and from the folks in Vietnam.
Although it’s quite evident that the new iPhone 4G / HD will hit the shelves this June, but now another report has just came in which AT&T has confirmed to it’s employees that there will be a new iPhone and it will hit the stores this June. Yes June it is for availability as apposed to July as previously thought and it wont even be late June.
This is now becoming a norm isn't it? Some new pictures of the next iPhone are now floating around the web sphere, showing the metal frame which Apple has used to house the main interior components of this high profile gadget. This is basically that middle unibody piece which will have glass (or plastic) top on each side.
It’s official now. Steve Jobs will kick off Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference 2010 with a keynote address on 7th June at 10:00 am Pacific Time. Even though this year there has been a rash of high profile leaks prior to WWDC, which includes: iPhone 4G/HD and iPod touch with camera, yet the conference is expected to be as exciting as ever.
