We are fast approaching that all-important period of time that manages to sneak up on us each and every year. Yes, we are talking about the point in the yearly calendar when the speculation surrounding the next-generation of iPhone starts to well and truly come to the surface. We've seen this year's WWDC come and go with no mention whatsoever of any new iPhone hardware, which in itself is significant as it immediately rubbished rumors relating to Apple falling back in line with the original 2007 June announcement schedule. Very little is known about the seventh-generation iPhone device - other than it will run iOS 7 of course - but a couple of images to mysteriously emerge could show the existence of the iPhone 5S with a number of notable upgrades.
Apple has stuck resolutely by its long standing philosophy with its iPhone range hitherto, and the iPhone 5's slightly increased display size is about as radical as it has been thus far. But according to multiple sources of Reuters, the Cupertino company is exploring the possibility pushing display diameters up to 4.7 inches, with suggestions that an iPhone with a 5.7 inch screen is also part of the thought process. Should Apple decide to press on with the project, said devices would manifest themselves at some point next year, and with the same report also hinting at multiple color configurations and $99 starting price points for future iPhones, is Apple about to break away from old habits?
One annoying fact of most early hardware leaks, is that those obtaining these rare artifacts seem eagle-eyed clued-up enough to discover them in the first place, but struggle to source a respectable camera to take a decent shot before distributing images to eager tech fiends across the Web. This can certainly be said of many of the so-called iPhone 5S's internal hardware parts leaks hitherto, but today, we have come across some high quality images of which are being touted as components of the next-generation Apple smartphone.
We've already heard today that the next-gen iPhone may not be called the iPhone 5S, but rather the iPhone 6, and to add even more speculation to the discussion, it looks as though the forthcoming device, whatever it shall be named, may also sport a tweaked camera design.
While it's pretty much a given that Apple will make some kind of announcement this year about the next-generation iPhone, it's still unknown exactly when that media conference will happen. There's strong speculation suggesting that the upcoming WWDC 2013 in San Francisco will be used once again as a software platform, effectively allowing Apple to introduce iOS 7. It seems unlikely that the Cupertino company will revert back to a June launch date for any new iPhone hardware, especially with the latest industry speculation suggesting that Sharp is set to ramp up their LCD panel production line to fulfill the required quota of iPhone 5S displays, beginning next month.
It seems that a day can't go by right now without there being some sort of story that revolves around Apple's decision to either build a larger iPhone, or its decision against it. It appears that every analyst on the planet has an opinion on the subject when, in all honesty, they're quite probably just guessing as much as everyone else. That doesn't stop them proclaiming their guesses as fact, though.
Rumors pertaining to the fifth-gen iPad have begun heating up over the past few weeks, and the consensus seems to be that the device will take on a similar form factor to that of the iPad mini. Today, a photo purported to illustrate the interior of the rear shell of the "iPad 5" has been released by Tactus, the same company that offered the world a glimpse into the shell of the supposed low-cost iPhone. From the image, it would appear as though the various contours and grooves tie in with earlier such leaks, and although we're reserving full judgment until we encounter some more substantial evidence, it's looking very much like we should begin bracing ourselves for a "large iPad mini." Apart from the alleged iPad 5 exterior shell, a SIM tray has also popped up which is claimed to be of the next-gen iPhone, dubbed the iPhone 5S. More details right after the jump.
The Smartphones, notebooks, and tablets etc. of today have all sorts of features in them. It’s safe to say that we’re slowly progressing towards the Iron Man era where everything is either voice controlled or just available at our fingertips. But what’s the point of all that goodness if the aforementioned devices can’t even last one day on battery when in heavy use before showing us the white flag, right?
As if rumors of what the next iPhone will and will not feature were not already reaching silly proportions, the latest news on the street is that Apple's next flagship smartphone will feature a shiny new 12-megapixel camera and improved night time shooting.
Since late last year, rumors of an upcoming iPhone have begun to take hold, with speculation only intensifying over the last few weeks and months. New pictures of the iPhone 5S motherboard have found their way onto the World Wide Web, leaving us to speculate whether these are real or just a quick Photoshop job.
