Apple's iPhone announcements tend to follow a very specific script, and with September 10th the confirmed date for the official unveiling of the two new handsets in store, we're likely to see the familiar sequence of events. Tim Cook will make the announcement, before Phil Schiller and others begin reeling off a bunch of reasons why the newer model "changes everything, again." To mark the occasion, a new parody video is doing the rounds, and pokes a little fun at the Cupertino company for its archetypal ways. Check it out after the break!
The big September 10th iPhone event is just days away, and with two new iPhones expected to be announced by the Cupertino-based outfit, it's fair to say that the tech industry is rather excited. Although we're now sure to the point of near certainty that we'll be seeing a low-budget iPhone 5C as well as a flagship iPhone 5S, nothing's set in stone until the official unveiling, although China Telecom has gotten ahead of the game having already begun advertising the as-yet non-existent handsets for pre-order.
It's almost iPhone announcement day, and if we're honest we can't wait to be able to tell you about what Apple has announced, rather than play the guessing game that invariably accompanies any new iOS device's launch. Will it have that, or will it do this? What colors will it come in and will I get a free vial of unicorn tears with every iPhone I buy?
Know what's cooler than an iPhone announcement event? Two iPhone announcement events, and that's exactly what Apple has on the books for the 10th and 11th of September.
Reports coming in from reputable sources in the past week or so all-but confirmed September 10th as the announcement date of the budget iPhone 5C and flagship iPhone 5S, but now, any notion of that doubt can be swept aside with Apple having just pushed out the invitations to the event for that very date. Both devices are expected to be showcased by Cook, Schiller and the rest of the usual suspects, and with exactly a week to go, we're very much looking forward to the official unveiling.
Apple may be expected to announce the iPhone 5S on September 10th, but at the rate things are being leaked it's very difficult to believe that there will be any surprises left once Tim Cook and Phil Schiller set about unveiling Apple's latest top of the range iPhone. As is becoming the norm on a yearly basis now, Apple's various part suppliers have done a less than stellar job of keeping the new iPhone under wraps, with photos of the production and prototyping process popping up all over the place.
As the days tick away and we get ever closer to Apple's rumored September 10th iPhone announcement, more and more information is beginning to leak out about what Tim Cook and his band of merry men will be showing off the the world. There are already plenty of rumors doing the rounds, and those are sure to pick up pace in the next week or two.
Although we'll have to wait for the official announcement before we can, without any doubt, discover whether Apple does indeed intend to bring forth a gold 'champagne' color configuration for the iPhone 5S, strong reports - backed by physical evidence - have all-but confirmed the existence of a champagne / gold iPhone 5S. Today, high quality images of the rear shell of the device have emerged directly from Apple's supply chain, and as previously suspected, it's based heavily upon the White & Silver variant of the iPhone 5, with most of the silver areas instead finished in gleaming gold.
As we move closer to the speculated next-generation iPhone announcement, we are seeing additional leaked images that claim to prove the existence of the champagne / gold iPhone 5S. Over the last seven days we have been hearing murmurings about whether or not Apple will be releasing the iPhone 5S in a variety of colors, with most of the attention being lavished on the purported gold - or champagne - variant of the new device. Whether or not that will actually happen is still up in the air, but the latest leaked images to come from Japanese sources show the purported gold / champagne colored hardware sitting alongside a black and white version of the current iPhone 5.
Although it seems, in lieu of an official confirmation from Apple, as though the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C will be announced on September 10th at a special event, the date from which consumers will be able to get their paws on the new handsets is a little less cut-and-dried. Some have suggested a two-week wait, while other sources have indicated delays pushing the retail date well into October. Today, Japanese publication Nikkei has claimed that the devices will launch in Japan on 20th September, a mere ten days after the anticipated announcement.
