With the Worldwide Developers Conference now almost upon us, and as such, it should come as little surprise to see designers and general Apple enthusiasts getting their last-ditch concept ideas in before the lock. From what we've gathered, iOS 8 will include several new features and apps, including Healthbook among other goodies, but while we don't anticipate system-wide widget support complete with live tiles, this hasn't stopped one designer from bundling it into his latest concept.
One of the continued criticisms of the Apple iPad is that there's no support for multiple users. Unlike the iPhone and iPod touch, which are predominantly personal devices used by one owner, iPads are often utilized by an entire family or group of friends. Thus, it would be ideal if each individual user could have their own login through which to tailor their own settings, apps, and general experience, and that's exactly what a couple of concept makers have tried to achieve with this neat iOS 8 design.
The likes of Nest and Philips Hue bulbs have been integral to the advancement of the home automation scene, and now, it seems that Apple is taking a vested interest in this particular field. Apparently, we'll be hearing more about this move at WWDC 2014 next week, which will see new software features put in place to support these kinds of products.
You could be forgiven for thinking that there's nothing but iPhone 6 and iOS 8 news going on right now, what with the leaks, guessing games and varied opinions that are all flying around on a daily basis. In fact, it's probably safe to say that if you're not of the Apple persuasion, then you're probably sick and tired of hearing about everything iOS. That's why we hope you like this new Android theme we're sharing with you today.
According to recent reports, we've quite a lot to look forward to as far as iOS 8 is concerned, with Apple apparently pushing the boat out in offering some great new features alongside notable improvements to pre-existing aspects of its mobile software. Now, we're hearing that the Cupertino company may bring split-screen multitasking, akin to Samsung's Galaxy Tab Pro range and Microsoft’s Surface tablet, to its own iPad tablet.
Apple's reported acquisition of Beats Electronics for the tidy sum of $3.2 billion mightn't have been officially confirmed as yet, but if new information out of Japan is to be considered, it looks very much as though Apple does indeed want to increase its interest in the audio market. Apparently, the Cupertino company is looking to bake high definition (HD) audio playback into its upcoming iOS 8 software, which would also see the company introduce a higher fidelity, "HD-ready" Lightning connector and improved in-ear headphones to match.
It has recently become apparent that Apple plans to make a concerted push into the health and fitness market this year, with reports suggesting that the Cupertino company will introduce a "Healthbook" suite with iOS 8. This feature is set to tie in closely with the company's inaugural smartwatch effort that we've also heard a great deal about, and as per a report from Reuters, the fruit company may be planning to build a dedicated, third-party-supported, App Store-like hub for fitness-related services.
Given that Apple overhauled the design language of its mobile platform with iOS 7, it is reckoned that OS X, its desktop counterpart, will be treated to a similar makeover later this year. According to a new report, OS X 10.10 will be the central software announcement made at this year's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2014) in June, with Apple supposedly keen to peddle the significant alterations being made to the Mac software.
We've had some pretty decent insight into iOS 8 of late, and with this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2014) kicking off in early June, it has also been reported that internal testing is being ramped up in anticipation for the beta roll-out. Now, images of an iPhone 5s supposedly running the forthcoming software have leaked into the wild, and although there's no way of telling whether or not we're looking at the real deal or a nifty bit of fakery, the pixelated nature of the snaps suggest the latter.
Apple released iOS 7.1 back in March, and with it, introduced CarPlay, iTunes Radio enhancements, and several other minor tweaks and alterations. Today, reports suggest that iOS 7.1.1 release is on its way, although it appears that said update will focus on house-keeping, with the usual spate of bug fixes and general performance enhancements.
