Today, the second day of MIX10 kicked off in style at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. On this day of the conference, Dean Hachamovitch, General Manager for Internet Explorer announced the successor to IE 8, Internet Explorer 9. President of Windows Division Steven Sinofsky also made a guest appearance on stage for the IE 9 demo.
IE Team today on Day 2 of Microsoft Professional Developers Conference (PDC09) unveiled Internet Explorer 9 (aka IE 9) which they have only started working on three weeks, prior to the event today. President of Windows and Windows Live Division, Steven Sinofsky was on stage who demonstrated an early preview build of Internet Explorer 9.
Microsoft has started rolling out the new Web Slice feature for Windows Live Home (http://home.live.com) worldwide. Last week, LiveSide reported on this upcoming new feature of Windows Live Home which shows the top three(by default) most recent happenings from your “What’s new with your network”.
We did a comprehensive review of Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 when it was released back in August 2008. Not surprisingly, there is no major change since Beta 2. I did some testing of RC1 bits installed on Windows Vista Ultimate (x86) and my own impressions are that IE8 is indeed generally faster than Beta 2.
