Although Apple's range of computers ship with set hardware specifications as standard, consumers can configure a more personalized setup thanks to the Cupertino company's built-to-order service. For example, the MacBook Pro with Retina display costs $2,799.00 over at Apple's online store, but if one wishes to bump up the storage space, processor speed or RAM, for example, this can be arranged at additional cost.
Apple has been busy over the last few weeks with the introduction of new iPods, launching the all-new iPhone 5 and the accompanying iOS 6 software. The hardware and software that has come out of Cupertino’s doors recently would normally be enough for any other company but it looks like Apple aren't finished yet with the introduction of a miniature iPad on the cards as well as the possible announcement surrounding a much welcome refresh to their iMac computers.
According to Fox, Apple is planning to release a refreshed batch of its iMac desktop computer in time for Christmas, and the news and entertainment giant's Clayton Morris reckons the new iMacs could launch as soon as next week. He also speculates Apple could instead drop the new iMacs range at next month's special event for the iPad Mini, but reckons they'll be available in time for the all-important holiday season.
A significant refresh of the Mac Pro was expected to arrive at WWDC '12, but the speculation never reached fruition, and the somewhat neglected device still pines for its first changes since 2009. Intel's long-awaited Ivy Bridge chip finally reached the Cupertino company's famed MacBook range at the annual developers conference, and both the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro were grateful recipients.
