The Samsung Galaxy S4 is now available to pre-order in the United Kingdom and naturally, the vast majority of the big retailers and carriers are on board. Available from late next month, prices naturally vary depending on which package you go with, but the takeaway is that, even on contract, the device will cost a fair bit upfront. Meanwhile, across the pond, AT&T has also offered vague details regarding its own Galaxy S4 pre-order plans.
As you may have gathered by now, SamMobile has gotten hold of a Samsung Galaxy S4 ROM dump, and has spent much of the week thus far drip-feeding its contents out to the Android vultures. At 11MB in total, it's a pretty impressive collection, and if your current melody has become a little tiresome, why not freshen things up with your very own Galaxy S4 ringtone? The Samsung Galaxy S4 may not have been released yet, but already, the thriving modding community has begun extracting it of all its exclusives and treasures, including its beautiful array of HD wallpapers. The Korean company has, naturally, updated and improved its native personal assistant S Voice for the upcoming flagship, and already, a system dump leaked into the wild has given the opportunity for those on preexisting devices to try it out. The app has already been tested by SamMobile on the Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S III and the Nexus 4, and is said to work "flawlessly" on each. Further details - as well as the download link - are coming up after the break.
Following on from the earlier news that T-Mobile would finally be carrying the iPhone as of early next month, the carrier has also revealed that Samsung's Galaxy S4 would be available in early May. CEO John Legere stated at the company's "UnCarrier" conference that the device will arrive "about May 1st," which means, providing no major hitches arise, consumers will only have to wait around five weeks to get their hands on Samsung's latest and greatest smartphone effort.
Around 70 percent of the first 10 million Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones will ship with the Snapdragon 600 processor, according to a new report. Only 30 percent will pack Samsung’s own Exynos 5 processor. The South Korean company is looking to sell the Snapdragon version throughout North America and Europe, while some European nations will see the Exynos 5 Octa-Core variant at a later date.
If Geekbench scores ruled the mobile industry, Samsung's latest and greatest Galaxy S4 handset would have blown out the competition. Having carried out some comparisons of the Geekbench 2 scores of the current popular and big-selling devices, PrimateLabs has established that not only is the GS4 considerably faster than any other smartphone ever made, but almost twice as fast as the iPhone 5, now that’s something.
Most of you will, by now, have seen the prime time release of the Samsung Galaxy S4 on Thursday, and while the early opinions are flying about at will, it's pretty hard to gauge just how the device fares against some of its rivals. The handset is overflowing with high-end features, and trumps pretty much everything else in the specs department, but in a face-to-face, real world comparison, how does Samsung's latest outlet compare with its long-standing adversary, the iPhone? Several publications managed to get their hands on the Galaxy S4, and as well as offering in-depth, hands-on coverage, also briefly considered the presence of the iPhone 5.
This past Thursday, Samsung woo’ed consumers with the announcement of the Galaxy S4, Samsung’s newest Android-based smartphone. Many smartphone users are already looking to purchase the device as soon as it reaches retail shelves; those in Italy, however, might be dealt with a slight blow as the price for the new handset will come higher than expected.
The Galaxy S4 has scarcely managed two days in the limelight, and already Apple has chimed in with the customary new web page offering a bunch of subtly-conveyed reasons why Android sucks, and why the iPhone 5 is much better and you should buy it. As childish an assessment as that may sound, we're used to seeing just how the biggest battle in tech frequently devolves into playground-like tit-for-tat, and with Apple and the iPhone 5 feeling decidedly left-out over the past 48 hours, it was never going to be long before the Android community was treated to some kind of backlash.
