Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S IV smartphone may feature wireless charging this generation, according to reports.
Over the last few years, many device makers have been flirting with the idea of rolling out flexible displays on its handheld devices, but no other company has been most outspoken about it than Samsung. At the Consumer Electronic Show, the company showed off its new generation of bendable displays, which have a huge potential for changing the traditional form factor of smartphones.
It is being reported that the Samsung Galaxy S IV, the next generation of Samsung’s flagship smartphone, will hit the shelves in April 2013 and include features from the Samsung’s mini-tablet, the Galaxy Note, such as the infamous ‘S Pen’.

The Galaxy S IV is yet to be announced officially by Samsung, but given the popularity of Android's most successful smartphone series, it's not too surprising to see the blogosphere abuzz with speculation regarding the features of the Galaxy S III's eventual successor. We've heard various talk of 1080p unbreakable displays, CES announcements, and April release dates, but as yet, we haven't much of an idea of its aesthetic form. As we await our first leak, Russian blog rozetked has thrown up a very intriguing concept design featuring a laser keyboard, super-svelte form factor, and an edge-to-edge display, all topped off with a delicious helping of Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. It may not have happened to you personally, but everybody has seen the what happens when a mobile device meets gravity. Such is the toughness of displays today, that many survive an accidental drop without so much as a crack, but when they do succumb and shatter, they become a hazard unto their owner, with shards and slivers aplenty. Recognizing this, rumor has it that Samsung is planning to release an "unbreakable" screen with the upcoming Galaxy S III smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy S III may only have been around for half of this year, but the focus has now well and truly turned to its eventual predecessor. The past couple of weeks have seen a notable spike in Galaxy S IV rumors and general coverage, and although much of it has been conflicting, we've seen some very interesting tidbits of information. The status of the Galaxy S brand certainly justifies the excitement building up, and in the latest revelation, it would seem recently-leaked handset - codenamed "Project J" - is going to be arriving circa April 2013.
Samsung is enjoying a pretty fantastic time in the smartphone industry at the moment, thanks to their Galaxy S handsets that have proven to be hugely successful with the Android loving community. The current Galaxy S III model is still flying off the shelves and recent earnings reports have shown that the Korean based electronics giants are certainly going in the right direction with record breaking profits in the last quarter. There's nothing like a good rumor to raise the stock price of a company and it looks like the Galaxy S IV speculation is starting to surface.
The iPhone 5 event has been and gone, and although Apple didn't really announce anything that hadn't already been leaked or speculated about beforehand, it was deemed to be a major success. The immediate depletion of the pre-order sales stock confirms that Apple has a commercial success at hand in the for of the iPhone 5, but now that the excitement is over, consumers need something else to get their teeth into and get excited about.
