The next Apple smartphone, unofficially dubbed the "iPhone 6," will reportedly arrive in two different configurations - both of which are said to be larger than any iPhone released hitherto. As well as a 4.7-inch model, there will, it has been suggested, also be a 5.5-inch variant, and both of these new handsets could, as other bits of info have implied, be notably thinner than its would-be predecessor, akin to the new iPad Air. With this in mind, one concept maker has come through with an 'iPhone Air' concept, and as well as a stunning appearance, it also boasts a fairly tasty list of specs. Check it out below.
We've mulled other what seems like thousands of concepts pertaining to the so-called Apple iWatch, and even though designers and fans of the idea have been tripping over themselves to put a face to the name, we're still none the wiser as to what the fruit company has in its plans. Today, designer Gábor Balogh has come through with a rather interesting take on the iWatch, which sticks with the recognized form factor of a normal wristwatch while cramming in all of the digital niceties that appease us tech fans. With the recent announcements of the Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2 and the HTC M8 well on the way, it's fair to say that the Android boys have muscled in and dampened the rumors of Apple's next big thing. At present, we're under the impression that there will be two new, significantly larger devices hitting the scene later on this year, but while it looks like the iPhone 5c will be scrapped and forgotten about, one concept designer has come through with an interesting take on what we might end up seeing if Apple does decide to stick with the polycarbonate finish. Check it out after the leap!
We've seen designers and digital artists share their own personal vision of what the future of Apple's iOS will look like. We've witnessed what a potential touch-screen iMac could look like and we've even see a number of imaginative pieces that outline how a potential iOS or Android powered smartwatch could work. It's very rare that designers, or general users for that matter, take the time to reimagine what Microsoft's mobile operating system could be like, but that's exactly what we have here with a Windows Phone 9 concept.
Tim Cook recently hinted that Apple had a few new and exciting products up its sleeve for release later on this year, and although, when he talked of the "new product category," he was probably referring to the likes of the rumored iWatch, there's also been a great deal of speculation pertaining to an much larger iPad Pro. We've seen and heard plenty regarding the device, which many believe will pack a mammoth 12.9-inch display, and given that such a machine would be stepping into territory currently occupied by the MacBook range, one savvy design team has dreamed up a concept of the iPad Pro running Apple's desktop OS X operating system.
We've seen a plethora of leaked information that speculates on the potential technical specifications of the future Samsung flagship device, as well as conjecture surrounding the integration of a new external shell and an overhauled TouchWiz UI. "Sources familiar with the situation" have managed to furnish our inquisitive minds with pretty much everything we need to know about the Galaxy S5, except for an actual image that shows the aesthetics of the phone. That could all be about to change thanks to the latest Galaxy S5 concept that could be the most accurate we have seen yet.
It has been claimed that Apple is sharpening its claws for an assault on the mobile fitness industry, with a so-called Healthbook app presenting a Passbook-esque interface of stacked cards, each containing different snippets of information related to your overall personal fitness and well-being. Today, designer Carlos Quijano has thrown up a concept design of Healthbook for iOS 8 in action, featuring, among other ideas, integration with the elusive iWatch.
Last year, Apple took the unprecedented step of releasing two new iPhones simultaneously, introducing both the flagship iPhone 5s and the colorful, cheaper iPhone 5c. But according to numerous reports, the Cupertino company has similar plans for this year, and is supposedly preparing device with a slight display increase on what we've seen hitherto, as well as a further model sporting a larger, 5-inch+ panel for a great deal more real estate. Latching onto this, designer Federico Ciccarese, whose incredible talents have been featured on many occasions here at Redmond Pie in the past, has dreamed up yet another beautiful set of renders for the two upcoming handsets. Prepare to be wowed after the break!
I use the HTC One and iPhone 5s on a daily basis, and although there are other nice-looking handsets on the market, the general consensus is that these are two of the most beautiful currently available. But while the Apple flagship is merely four months old, the One is heading towards the latter stages of its tenure, and consumers are already eagerly waiting to see what's next from the Taiwanese company. A few rumors have been floating about with nothing really set in stone as yet, but a new HTC One M8 concept dreamt up by Google+ user Nikolai Prettner has well and truly blown us away. Check it out after the break!
We may be waiting for Samsung to share its vision for the Galaxy S5, but that isn't stopping people from coming up with their own concepts of what the next big thing from the company will be like. The latest concept comes from Rozetked, with the idea being that the new handset would be some sort of amalgamation between an iPhone 5s and whatever Samsung has up its sleeve for the next Galaxy phone.
