The iPad 2 is still on short supply, but the iPad 3 rumors have started already with RCRWireless writing that Apple is planning to bring 3D to its next tablet, citing a Hollywood source.
3D is all the rage these days, whether that be displays or cameras, with Nintendo's 3DS mobile gaming console one of the few to offer glasses-free 3D. Now thanks to research by Jeremie Francone and Laurence Nigay from the Laboratory of Informatics of Grenoble at the EHCI Research Group, Apple's iPad 2 is getting in on the action.
Say what you want about Microsoft, but the boys in Redmond sure know how to make some interesting (if useless) technology. Hot on the heels of tech like Surface, and Kinect (OK, not all of it's useless) comes a new way of creating accurate 3D models - using your mobile phone.
The Stereoscopic 3D experience is coming soon to iOS devices and Android! It’s not going to be native three-dimensional video but still offers similar results and the cool thing is: you won’t have to wear those hideous polarized glasses!
