Facebook can always use a few handy tweaks, especially on mobile. If you happen to be on iOS, and want to supercharge your experience while you’re using the Facebook app, then look no further as the ‘Facebook ++’ tweak from Cydia is all you need to kick things into high gear.
Giving you the freedom to explore Facebook in ways that Zuckerberg has not allowed you to, you may want to jailbreak your iOS device just for this. Facebook ++ offers users some nifty privacy settings, including the ability to turn off read receipts and even typing receipts. However, a more powerful Stealth Mode is also in place to quickly take you off any radar by disabling your online status and location sharing as well.
If you’re concerned about someone accessing Facebook on your iPhone, then the tweak carries its own launch security which users can set by means of a passcode or even Touch ID.
Facebook ++ brings back the in-built messenger, just like the old versions of the Facebook app, and also lets you enable Chat Heads to help you stay on top of your conversations, literally. Something a lot of users will find pleasing is the addition of timestamps for each message.
Facebook originally restricts users to sending only 6 photos via messages, but that restriction is removed with Facebook ++.
Users can now experience Facebook in full-screen mode and also hide tab labels such as ‘Search’, ‘Status’, ‘Photo’ etc. Facebook had only just introduced the Graph Search feature and Facebook ++ is carrying that as well.
A fun feature, is the ability to allow users to download their favorite videos directly from the News Feed, where the download button rests neatly below each video.
If you wish to tinker with the very fabric of Facebook, there’s an ‘Employee Settings’ feature to be found as well. Apparently this feature gives you access to tons of technical options to play around with, provided you know what you’re doing.
Facebook ++ is available for your iPhone, iPad and iPad touch, and can be downloaded for free from the BigBoss repository in Cydia.
