Apple’s 16-inch MacBook Pro is expected to get an Apple silicon refresh any day now, and that seems more likely than ever with stocks of the current Intel model running dry.
Anyone trying to order a 16-inch MacBook Pro for in-store collection across the United States right now is out of luck, while ordering online for delivery isn’t much better.
Delivery estimates currently sit at around a week, suggesting that a new refresh is just around the corner.
The new 16-inch MacBook Pro is set to be joined by a 14-inch version, both sporting new mini-LED displays if rumors are to be believed. New Apple M1X chips are also likely to be part of the setup, potentially based on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max’s A15 Bionic chip.
The new notebooks are also roundly expected to ditch the Touch Bar, while the return of HDMI ports and SD card slots is also hotly anticipated. Talk of the triumphant return of MagSafe is also getting people excited for what could be ahead of us.
If Apple does refresh the MacBook Pro lineup, we expect an online-only event to be held similar to the recent iPhone announcement. When that will be isn’t yet known, but the current stock situation could suggest a reveal is closer than ever.
