Steve Jobs Movie’s Blu-ray, DVD, Digital Release Set For February 2016

Steve Jobs, the movie about the talismanic Apple co-founder starring Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet will go on sale on Blu-ray, DVD and digital release this February, following a less than brilliant reception at the Box Office.

Released to theaters on October 9, 2015, the movie is now set to go on sale digitally on February 2 and then across retail locations two weeks later, February 16, the Danny Boyle-directed movie will come complete with a selection of special features, with some of those available as part of the Blu-ray release.

These features include the following.

  • Inside Jobs: The Making of Steve Jobs
  • Feature Commentary with Director Danny Boyle
  • Feature Commentary with Writer Aaron Sorkin and Editor Elliot Graham

Pulled by Universal from over 2000 cinema locations across the United States following a disappointing release, this February’s home release will be a second chance for the Steve Jobs movie to make the impact that many had expected it to make during its theatrical run. Having been highly anticipated and with a sparkling cast of actors as well as Danny Boyle and Aaron Sorkin involved in its creation, many had hoped that Steve Jobs movie would be the definitive movie adaptation of his life. Instead, it has floundered ever since actors started knocking back the job of being cast as the lead role, Michael Fassbender, in the end, picking up the mantel.

Neither Steve Jobs’ family nor Apple itself were fans of the movie, and if reviews from both critics and movie goers are anything to go by, then they were, by no means, alone in their assessment.

Still, if you’ve either not seen the Steve Jobs movie for yourself or have, and inexplicably enjoyed it, then you’ll be able to own it come February. We’re curious to see whether it appears on iTunes or not. It probably will, like other movies and documentaries based on the life of Apple’s co-founder.
