Specs Of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 And Press Render Of S6 Edge+ Leak Online

It’s only a matter of weeks until Samsung officially unveils the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ at its dedicated Unpacked media event on August 13. However, such is the thirst for knowledge within the smartphone industry that consumers just cannot wait an additional two weeks to see what Samsung has in store with its two new Android flagships. Thankfully, Evan Blass of @evleaks appears to have all of the gory details on the Korean company’s fifth-generation Galaxy Note and has shared them with the world.

Samsung has made no secret of the fact that it’s banking on the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ to provide a much needed reprieve from the troubles that it has been experiencing in the smartphone market of late. To that end the Galaxy Note 5 will reportedly ship with a 5.66-inch display serving up a 2560×1440 pixel display resolution. Processing power for the Note 5 will be provided by Samsung’s own octa-core Exynos 7420 SoC with individual cores capped at 2.1GHz and 1.5GHz. Users can also expect to receive 4GB of RAM when purchasing the Galaxy Note 5.

Samsung will also be offering up devices with different internal storage options due to the lack of microSD support for those who generally expand their devices with external storage cards. There’s no surprise that the Galaxy Note 5 will be running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box and will satisfy the needs of those interested in photography and professional level selfies by offering a 16-megapixel primary camera as well as a 5-megapixel forward-facing module. The only thing left unanswered is what Samsung’s fifth-generation Note will actually look like. So, in the interest of fairness and offering a complete picture prior to launch, here is what Note 5 (on the left) looks like:

As you can also see from the images, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ (on the right) is essentially the same device with a curved display on either side, similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge, only with larger screen. The visuals also show the accompanying stylus which will ship with the fifth-generation Note when the hardware eventually lands on our physical and digital shelves later this month. Samsung will no doubt provide the world with more information during the Unpacked event on August 13, but for now these leaks should give all interested consumers a fairly in-depth idea of what’s coming.
