We’ve been hearing rumors that Sony intends to announce the PlayStation 5 Pro for months now, and we seem to be getting closer and closer to the official unveiling. Following a recent leak that appeared to show what the new console will look like, it seems Sony might have leaked it itself.
Sony shared a first look at what it plans to do to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation and it appears that promotional artwork may have given us another glimpse at the unannounced and as-yet unconfirmed PlayStation 5 Pro.
The image appears to show an unknown PS5-like console with the same design that was previously leaked — you can see it for yourself by zooming in between the S of the PlayStation logo and the 3 beside it.
While this is obviously not quite the official unveiling that we’re waiting for, it’s the closest thing that we’ve come to such a thing to date. And it’s important to remember that these things don’t happen by accident, so take this as a good hint that the PlayStation 5 Pro is just around the corner.
We’ll have to wait and see what the PlayStation 5 Pro offers gamers and developers alike, but the general consensus is that we should look forward to big performance improvements.
That will then likely mean some games will have PlayStation 5 Pro-specific features or graphics mode similar to those available to the PS4 Pro previously.
