Speaker and audio company Sonos has today announced the Ace wireless headphones, a premium offering that will be available in white or black with a retail price of $449. They won’t go on sale until June 5 though.
The new headphones bring with them a few notable features including a battery life of up to 30 hours per charge while three hours of battery life can be achieved by plugging in for just three minutes. Charging is handled by USB-C, as you’d expect.
Sonos also says that the Ace headphones support surround sound home theater experiences without bothering the rest of your household while the Active Noise Cancellation feature is paired with Aware mode, allowing people to be more aware of their surroundings like when walking around town or in an office where they need to be able to hear what’s going on around them.
ANC is of course available for when that noise needs to be blocked out.
“They’re here! Fans have asked us for years to bring the Sonos experience to headphones — and we knew our first foray into the category needed to champion the type of innovation and sound experience Sonos has become synonymous with,” said Patrick Spence, CEO of Sonos. “Sonos Ace leverages everything we’ve learned over two decades as an audio leader to bring stunning sound, sleek design and long-standing comfort to one of the largest and most popular audio categories worldwide.”
The Sonos press release notes that these Bluetooth headphones also “feature breathtaking lossless and spatial audio” while a a global launch will offer people around the world the chance to pick a pair up.
