Smart Tracker Tile Gets Replaceable Battery, More Range

The popular Tile trackers have today received an update, with both the Tile Mate and Tile Pro launching with perhaps one of the most requested features in tow. Both of the new trackers offer replaceable batteries.

Previous Tile devices had to be replaced by Tile itself under the reTile program, with new Tiles provided at a discounted price. That was never a particularly great way of doing things, and now the new Tile devices all offer removable batteries and we can’t imagine that not being a very well received addition. If you own older Tile trackers, don’t worry – the reTile program lives in with replacement Tiles being the Tile Mate and Tile Pro, again with a discount provided.

Other additions include the fact the new Tile Mate has a 50% increase in its Bluetooth range to around 150 feet, while the Tile Pro can now reach 300 feet, up from its previous 200 feet maximum range.

With the new versions of Mate and Pro, customers can keep their favorite Tiles indefinitely, and expect batteries to come with a guaranteed one-year lifespan. To meet Tile standards for usability, reliability and durability, the team spent a year perfecting the entire user experience, including extensive testing a wide variety of battery doors. Tile also raised the bar for the industry by increasing ring volume and Bluetooth range for both products. Tile Mate boasts a Bluetooth range of 150 feet and Tile Pro offers an unprecedented Bluetooth range of 300 feet.

All this sounds like a very worthy upgrade, with the Tile Mate selling for $25 for a single unit or $60 if you want four. The Tile Pro will cost $35, with a two-pack costing $60. Both new products are available to buy now on Amazon and thetileapp.com.
