While we recently covered a jailbreak app called Private Area that did the same thing, it simply pales in comparison to the one this post is about: iDiscrete.
Official description:
iDiscrete operates on a simple principle: "To securely store your private content (videos, images, et al.) on the iPhone, and do so in a 100% discreet way".
Instead of just being an app that saves certain files locked by a password, iDiscrete goes the the extra mile to secure private content. Instead of asking for a password, you have to tap in a secret “touch sequence” during a loading screen; if the password fails, a text editor open ups which ensures no one gets suspicious.
You can also change the icon and its name. Not only that, you can hide it as one those built-in Apple apps you don’t use (Stocks, anyone?).
Truly discreet, I must say. The chances of someone showing a password locked app now are right next to zero with this ‘un.
You will, of course, need to have a jailbroken iPhone or iPod touch to install it. Follow our step by step guide to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with Limera1n or GreenPois0n if you haven’t already.
iDiscrete JB is available from Cydia under ModMyi repository.
