Samsung has officially confirmed that its next Unpacked event will take place this coming January 14, 2021, at 10 AM Eastern Time (ET). That’s a 7 AM early morning call for all you Pacific Time (PT) folks.
As is generally the case with dedicated Unpacked events, Samsung is inviting the world to learn all about the new products and experiences that the business has been working on. This particular event has been announced with the “Welcome to the Everyday Epic” tagline and includes a Samsung Newsroom post that focuses on an “accelerated transition to a mobile-first world”.
Over the past year, mobile technology has taken center stage in everyday life as people are working remotely and spending more time at home. The accelerated transition to a mobile-first world brings with it the need for devices that can transform everyday life into an extraordinary experience.
As with all events of this nature, you never really “know” what’s coming until it’s announced on stage. After all, everything is subject to change and deviation until the very last minute. With that said, it’s all-but nailed on that this Unpacked event will introduce the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra Android-based smartphones that will serve as Samsung’s next flagships.
Based on what is already known, those handsets are expected to be cheaper than last year’s Galaxy S20, introduce an updated aesthetic, and ship with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor as the main driving force of the device. Additionally, Samsung is also expected to unveil the Galaxy Buds Pro, designed to rival Apple’s AirPods Pro. The Buds Pro is expected to ship with noise-canceling features, silicone tips, and advanced features like voice detection that can lower the volume of playing media when you are talking.
We don’t have an indication of cost for the Buds Pro just yet but you can expect Samsung’s new hardware to be the most expensive in that lineup. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Samsung will be live streaming the Unpacked event on January 14 in the absence of an in-person crowd. The event will be streamed live via Samsung.com for those that wish to tune in.
