Samsung Galaxy S6 Camera Details Revealed In New Leaked Benchmark [Image]

Project Zero, or as it’s commonly known – The Galaxy S6 from Samsung, has made a magical appearance on the AnTuTu benchmarking app once more, assuring us that something out there is pretty eager to make a public appearance. The benchmark shows the device’s model as ‘SM-G925F’.

Just a few days back, a similar device appeared on the benchmarking app fueling speculations that this could very well be Project Zero itself. The SM-G925 is believed to be a European variant of the Galaxy S6 which is the very same iteration that was initially spotted on AnTuTu.

The two benchmarks, when compared, detail the same components, except for one critical element; the rear-facing camera unit. The very first benchmarking screenshot showed the purported Galaxy S6 with a 20-megapixel rear shooter, but the latest benchmark puts the camera at 16-megapixels, leading many to believe that Samsung is busy testing out two prototypes with different camera sensors, obviously.

The rest of the hardware remains identical, with the octa-core processor, Mali-T760 GPU, quad-HD screen. This latest benchmark result however, does not detail the screen size, which was a good 5.5-inch as per the earlier AnTuTu benchmark.

A variant of the Galaxy S6 will be launched as well with a Qualcomm SoC, possibly with the 64-bit architecture based octa-cored Snapdragon 810 processor, Adreno 430 GPU and more.

Samsung is reportedly heavily invested in designing its upcoming flagship phone from the ground up in a bid to offer something totally new and exciting to the consumers, after the Galaxy S5 garnered a very dismal consumer response in contrast to the popular Galaxy S3, S4, and I dare say, the S2 which sold like hot cakes back in its time.

We have been seeing and speculating on the hardware of the phone for quite some time now, but there hasn’t been much word on the design front. Rumors have it that the S6 will be a metal-bodied design, but with that story ending right there, we can only hope that all of Samsung’s efforts don’t conclude with just beefed up hardware specs and metal construction. The market is already bustling with the likes of iPhone 6 / 6 Plus, HTC One M8 and soon M9, Google Nexus 6, the Galaxy Alpha, and Note 4.
