When you look at the very top of the smartphone pyramid you find the flagship phones from Samsung and Apple.
So far we’ve seen Apple’s latest flagship phone in the case of the iPhone 15 Pro, but Samsung’s next one isn’t going to arrive until January 2024. But when it does, it’s going to borrow one big feature from Apple’s release.
That phone will be the Galaxy S24 Ultra with a new report by The Elec reporting that we can expect it to feature a titanium construction just like the iPhone 15 Pro.
The Ultra model in the series will be the first to adopt the titanium material and the company plans to expand the application depending on reception, sources said.
The same report claims that Samsung intends to bring the titanium material to the rest of the Galaxy S lineup, although there is no hard timeframe for when that will happen.
The same report also claims that Samsung has been working on using a Titanium material for the last couple of years but it is only a relatively recent decision to start to go down that route. Whether or not that happened after it was confirmed that Apple used titanium in the iPhone 15 Pro isn’t clear, however.
The new Galaxy S24 lineup is expected to be announced on January 17 based on recent reports with the Galaxy S24 Ultra being joined by the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+.
