The 27-inch mini-LED Apple monitor that was previously expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2023 is now no longer thought to be on schedule, according to a new report.
Apple had previously been expected to announce the new display before the end of March, but display industry analyst Ross Young now believes that the product will miss that launch window.
As MacRumors correctly points out, Young has a good track record when it comes to predicting what Apple will and will not announce based on his understanding of the display business. Now, he says that the display isn’t going to arrive when previously thought.
Young today informed MacRumors that he has not seen any signs of the display entering mass production, suggesting that a launch is not imminent. It appears that the display has been pushed back several times, as Young initially expected it to launch around June 2022, and then in October, and most recently in the first quarter of 2023.
Unfortunately, Young doesn’t appear to have any updated timeframe for when we can expect the new display to be ready.
When it does arrive the new 27-inch min-LED display is expected to sport support for 120Hz ProMotion, with the monitor likely to replace the existing $1,599 Apple Studio Display if and when it does eventually come to market.
