Here’s a color comparison and different between Red iPhone 7 Vs Jet Black iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Which one should you go for?
Apple’s latest iPhone introduction – which is a stunning version of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus finished in red – has been announced with a relatively stealth Apple Store update. The company may not have chosen to make a song and dance about the update via a dedicated media event, but that doesn’t stop the hardware from being any less appealing.
Apple has never explicitly gone on record as stating that it would be the type of company which would look to consistently appeal to new consumers by bundling the same product into the market with various new and vivid color options.
Sure, experimentation was achieved with iPhone 5c as a budget-style version of Apple’s iPhone 5, but it has really been the iPhone 7 where Apple has looked to make amends to the exterior finish of the hardware with the introduction of the standard Black finish in matte as well as the extremely popular glossy and shiny Jet Black version which instantly proved to be a hit with consumers.
Those who are potentially in the market for a new smartphone, and who have been considering the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus as a contender, will likely have been giving serious consideration to Apple’s wonderful Jet Black version of the device. A decision may have been made until the (Product)Red variant was throw into the mix today.
So, with that in mind, should you stick to your original plans and introduce the Jet Black iPhone 7 into your life, or should you throw caution to the wind, embrace the newcomer, and do your bit for a global cause by embracing the brand new iPhone 7 finished in red?
From a hardware and specification perspective, Apple isn’t actually bringing anything new to the table with this new (Product)Red option. The underlying specification, and therefore the device’s capabilities and performance levels, will remain the same. The new introduction is purely about aesthetics, and there is definitely no denying that the brand new version is by far the most eye-catching of the iPhone 7 models now available.
But what about the type of finish it ships with, and any problems which could fall into the lap of the consumers based on that finish? Well, unlike the Jet Black version of the device, the red version will ship with more of a matte finish, akin to the standard Black version of iPhone 7. That type of finish should instantly mean that the hardware should be a lot less likely to suffer immediate scratching and exterior damage like the highly polished Jet Black version.
As you may already know, Apple clearly mentions it on its website that “the high-gloss finish of the Jet Black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodization and polishing process. Its surface is equally as hard as other anodized Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone.”
So there you have it. if you don’t want a device that is prone to scratches, and want something as striking as the new red iPhone, then the special edition Product(Red) iPhone makes more sense. It’s also the first time the iPhone has been made available in this color so it definitely will be more eye catchy thing to have now compared to Jet Black version which is almost six month old at this point in time.
In reality, the decision to purchase will likely come down to a purely personal decision for most, but for those who like to apply a semblance of logic to their purchases, the red version of the device is much more likely to remain untarnished for a longer time.
