Realme has teased the arrival of a new feature that will closely mimic that of the Dynamic Island — a feature that is currently exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Realme CEO Madhav Sheth shared a photo of the new feature, dubbed Mini Capsule, on Twitter saying that he thinks that it’s “really cool.”
It does appear to be very similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island and can be used to display information in the same way also.
Following the CEO’s tweet leaker @OnLeaks shared a video that showed the feature displaying information based on battery charging, but more integration will likely be added in the future.
Apple’s Dynamic Island does much more, of course. It’s used for various animations including charging, Low Power Mode, Face ID unlocking, and more. It also plays host to Live Activities which allow apps to display information even while the phone is being used, but without getting in the way of other apps that are the main focus.
As for Realme, it looks likely that the company will rely on whether Android developers integrate compatibility or not, something that is far from a given considering the relatively small company.
Whether others will follow suit remains to be seen, but Apple is already rumored to be adding the Dynamic Island to its base iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models later this year.
