Photo editors for the iPhone and iPad are pretty much overflowing in the iTunes App Store, and quite honestly, I feel that every third app that I come across belongs to the Photography category. In fact, these apps have now crossed over and in-between – you get camera apps that boast full editing suites embedded within, and likewise get photo editors that double as fully capable camera apps. So what’s the point of another new app, let alone review it?
Turns out, there is one, especially for apps like Prettify.
However, it’s when you download this fun app, and then you actually appreciate its true potential and the claims that it so proudly makes. Prettify has one simple objective – to provide you as many quick editing tools as possible within as minimalistic an interface as possible and for as low a cost as possible, that is, free (it’s actually three objectives clubbed into one, but hey, you get the drift).
So, let’s see what Prettify can do for you. Quick enhancements? Check. Filters (lots and lots of them), check. Sharpness adjustment? Another check. Orientation alignments? Yet another check. Brightness, Contrast, Saturation etc. controls? Yep, they’re here. Replication of depth of field? Available. Blemishes? Prettify can handle them. It’s pretty much more than what I should be describing here, and you’d be better off actually trying the app out rather than taking my word for it.
The interesting part is, Prettify doesn’t end here. Through a small in-app purchase, you can unlock even further features, like removing in app ads, drawing over images, applying text overlays, use stickers and create animations that will give you instant memes right from the comfort of your iPhone.
Ok, you caught it – I said iPhone because that’s the biggest limitation with Prettify, despite being the awesome photo editor that it is. The app isn’t universal yet. Hence, if you own an iPad like me, you’ll spend half the time being annoyed at the pixelated interface that you’ll have to deal with. However, for iPhone owners, Prettify is a treat, and it doesn’t hurt that the app is completely free, so grab it right now and beautify those pictures!
