Well, the time has finally arrived for Sony and its PlayStation 4. The company certainly has a fair amount riding on its next-gen game machine being a huge success, and one week ahead of Microsoft’s Xbox One, the PS4 is launching today in North America. The wait for some new hardware has been lengthy among the gaming world’s truest fans, and with two new consoles arriving in almost simultaneous fashion, said individuals are now spoiled for choice. The PS3 might have arrived some time later than its main rival, the Xbox 360, but this time around, Sony is marginally quicker to the draw. With the recent news that some retail and pre-release PlayStation 4 consoles had been suffering from a myriad of issues pertaining hardware, it hasn’t exactly been the smoothest of press rides over the past 24 hours of the Japanese outfit. Although the company has played down these troubles as being nothing more than isolated incidents, the damage caused as both the press and gamers alike reported problems with their units could have significant repercussions.
Many of those who’ve made their minds up to purchase the PlayStation 4 will surely already have their check books ready, and with various promotional efforts already in full swing, you’ll do very well to escape the barrage of PS4-related coverage throughout the day. No doubt those still on the fence will be carrying out copious amounts of research before coming to a decision, and I’m sure plenty of you reading this right now are unsure as to whether you too will end the day with a shiny new PlayStation 4 console perched in your living room.
