You may have already heard that Apple is expected to release a new phone at some point next month, and with leaks beginning to build to an all time high, there’s little left to the imagination this time around. The same thing happened with the iPhone 5 before its announcement, but the iPhone 6 does feel almost like it’s already here, such is the sheer amount of leaks that we have been treated to.
One of those leaks is that Apple will reportedly announce the new phone at an event on September 9th, and if that’s the case then we don’t have all that long to wait. It’s a good job too, because yet another leak has cropped up with the folks at TechRadar claiming to have been given photos of what apparently looks like an iPhone 6 in its retail packaging.
Is nothing sacred anymore?
The photos themselves aren’t of the best quality we have ever seen. With just four weeks from the rumored iPhone 6 announcement, we wouldn’t be surprised if this new leak turns out to be legitimate, but equally you never really can tell with these things. For starters: we can’t tell if the OS shown on the supposed iPhone 6 box is indeed iOS 8. There’s no Health app in sight, which is a marquee feature in iOS 8 itself, and we’re certain Apple wouldn’t just leave it out after having made song and dance of it at WWDC this year.
TechRadar says that the photos came via a completely new source.
Ultimately you’ll need to make your own mind up about these photos, but on a positive note, we shouldn’t have to wait too long to find out just how real or fake they are.
September 9th: mark that date on your calendar, and we’ll bring you big news as it happens, so stay tuned!
