Philips has continued the expansion of its fabulous Hue lighting range by introducing a new product that promises to offer ultimate lighting flexibility to end-users. The newly unveiled Hue Lightstrip Plus immediately manages to make its presence felt within the Hue range by not only being the most flexible light source that Philips offers, but also due to the fact that it is highly extensible and utterly beautiful when used in the right setting.
This latest Hue product builds on the successes of the original Hue LightStrips model that came before it. Like its predecessor, the Lightstrip Plus comes as a 2-meter long strip, comprising of multiple-embedded 20.5 watt LED bulbs. The strip also comes with an adhesive back to allow consumers to mount the gorgeous strip of lights pretty much anywhere they please; behind television sets, under desks, down the frame of a cupboard door, or along the kitchen plinth. You name it, the Hue Lightstrip Plus can make it happen.
Like the majority of the Hue range, the new Lightstrip Plus is not predominantly a solo Hue option. Philips has done a fairly great job of complimenting the Hue range with various lighting options that can all work together harmoniously to utilize beautiful light, and create a calming and stunning personal environment – all controllable from an iOS or Android device. The Lightstrip Plus continues that ethos with Philips recommending that it can be used in conjunction with other Hue lights:
Meet the new Philips Hue lightstrip plus! The most flexible light source. Shape it, cut it, or extend it up to 10 meters! The Philips Hue lightstrip plus offers ultimate flexibility from white light to 16 million colors.
For those interested in Philips’ new strip lighting option, it comes with a fairly enviable set of specs. The 2-meter strip is not only extendable up to 10-meters, but can also be cut down to fit pretty much any space at each 33 centimeter interval on the strip. Philips has added a new tunable white light to the contraption along with support for 16 million colors. The functional white light embraces all shades, ranging from warm to cold color temperatures and measures in at 1600 lumens. Philips also predicts an estimated lifetime of 20,000 working hours for the bulbs within the Lightstrip Plus.
Those interested in intelligent home automation and complementing an existing Hue installation will be able to pick the Lightstrip Plus (2-meter) up in North America for $89.95, starting this coming October. Additional 1-meter extensions will retail at $29.95.
