Perfectly Clear for Android Offers Intelligent Image Correction Like Never Seen Before

iOS has its fair share of excellent photo-editing apps (it even comes with a basic editor built-in) like Snapseed, Camera+ and Photoshop, but offerings on Android aren’t particularly striking, at least they weren’t when - a few months ago - I used a Galaxy S II.

Now, we’ve come across a brand new photo-editing app called Perfectly Clear that aims to change that. Developed by Athentech Imaging, Perfectly Clear takes your camera’s ordinary photos and turns into images that look like they’ve been taken by a dedicated high-end point and shoot camera.

Perfectly Clear is designed to work well with both experienced photographers and normal folk who just want to improve the photo they took with their drunk friends in a low-light night bar. It has sliders for specific images characteristics (exposure, contrast, sharpening, color depth, vibrancy etc.) that can be precisely adjusted by the former, and one tap “fix” buttons (Fix Dark for images taken in low-light, Beautify for removing facial blemishes and red eye) for the latter. You can even save your set of personal corrections in the form of a preset so it can be easily applied on other photos with just one tap.

Our only gripe with the app at the moment is that its user-interface is a bit of an eyesore with its bland colors and unintuitive button placement, but that’s nothing that can’t be fixed in an upcoming version; this is the first version after all.

Interested folks can go ahead and download the app from the Google Play Store for the low price of $0.99.

Smartphones are the ultimate example of the convergence of technology. These gadgets that fit in the palm of your hand can act as your music player, portable movie player, handheld gaming console, voice recorder, portable storage device and a whole lot more thanks to third-party apps.

With respect to this post, I’ll mention how these devices even double as a point-and-shoot camera with high-resolution photos and the ability to record Full HD video. As if that wasn’t enough, you can even process the photos / videos right on your phone.
