Mac OS X 10.6.5 was supposed to bring AirPrint support for any printer connected to a Mac. Reportedly, Apple has removed AirPrint support from OS X in the final release of 10.6.5 due to some last minute patent issues.
I have just been tipped off by one of our readers who has got a reply from Chpwn, confirming that Cydia is now ready for primetime use on iOS 4.2.
Apple has just released the final version of Mac OS X 10.6.5 Snow Leopard. It is a crucial update and it implements hundreds of fixes since the last few updates, 10.6.4 (June 2010), 10.6.3 (March 2010) and 10.6.2 (November 2009). You can get the update from Snow Leopard’s Software Update, or directly from the Software Downloads page here.
Those of you who have been following us on Twitter and / or Facebook may already know that I recently got my hands on Samsung Omnia 7 which is powered by Microsoft Windows Phone 7. After spending 24 hours with it, I am absolutely in love with the fact how different it is than both iOS and Android. While the version 1.0 of Windows Phone 7 has its shares of annoyances like: no multitasking, no copy-paste, and the inability to manually assign IP addresses etc, but the new and different experience totally out numbered all the lows (which will be fixed with an OTA update anyway) for me.
While we recently covered a jailbreak app called Private Area that did the same thing, it simply pales in comparison to the one this post is about: iDiscrete.
Sources of MacStories have informed them that Apple will release final version of iTunes 10.1 along with Mac OS X 10.6.5 today, followed by the next major update of iOS (version 4.2) for iPhones, iPods and iPads on Friday, November 12, 2010. The arrival of OS X 10.6.5 and iTunes 10.1 before iOS 4.2 makes sense because they are required by iOS 4.2’s AirPrint and AirPlay functionalities.
Probably the most easiest way to install Android on an iPhone 2G/3G is via iPhoDroid, which we did cover previously. But the problem with it is; you should have a computer to run the whole process of installing Android on your iPhone 2G/3G. But thanks to Bootlace 2.1, you can now install Android 2.2.1 Froyo on your jailbroken iPhone without needing to connect it to any PC or Mac!
Epic Games - the studio behind Xbox 360 hits like Gears of Wars 2 and Unreal Tournament 3 - has released the first trailer for their Unreal Engine 3 based iOS game Infinity Blade… and it looks amazing.
Have you ever wanted Android-like panoramic wallpaper scrolling when you switch homescreens on your iPhone or iPod touch? Well, now you can with a tweak for jailbroken iPhones / iPod touches called Parallax.
Remember the HTC myTouch 3G with the near-perfect Chinese iOS 4 clone that we posted back in mid-September? That thing has a brother now: and it’s a Samsung Galaxy S-“branded” smartphone that seems to be running on the same software.
