As was expected, in an event held in the New York City, Verizon Wireless’ President & COO Lowell McAdam has announced the much anticipated arrival of Apple iPhone on Verizon’s network.
The official PlayStation app for iOS is go ! The app, which is compatible with iPhones and iPod touches running iOS 4.x and above enables you to check out your PlayStation Network trophies, and keeps you up to date with your friends’ games and online statuses.
Last week, Verizon sent out invites for their press event which is going to be held in the New York City tomorrow. WSJ has just announced that “a person familiar with the matter” (Presumably the same person, who confirmed this event would be iPhone related) claims that Verizon will be offering unlimited data plan to iPhone users.
Developer Steven Troughton-Smith has managed to run MeeGo OS on Google’s Nexus S phone. He has managed to run it via rootfs image on the internal memory, which means that you don’t have to risk flashing your phone to get it running alongside Android 2.3 Gingerbread. This feat also marks MeeGo as the first non-Android based OS to have been ported successfully on the Nexus S.
Well the 6th beta of Redsn0w 0.9.7 has been released. This version fixes all Skype related issues which were hampering users ever since the first beta of this untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak.
Instead of releasing a tethered version (like Redsn0w 0.9.6) of GreenPois0n for iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak, members of Chronic Dev have decided to work on their own untethered solution for iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak, confirms Joshua Hill, one of the members of the team.
The iPhone Dev Team has released yet another update to Redsn0w 0.9.7 jailbreak tool. This new version fixes all sandbox-related issues, including Bluetooth problems on an untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak. Also added is an “anti-piracy plea” note as a warning for those of you who are pirating iOS 4.2 beta 3 firmware.
At last it has happened, the popular VLC app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch has been removed from the App Store after Apple received the official copyright infringement complain from VLC developers.
The Wall Street Journal has just weighed in to confirm that the Verizon event, which is happening on 11th January is indeed going to be for the long-awaited Verizon iPhone 4.
