Nintendo Switch Lite Pre-Orders In Yellow, Turquoise, Gray Colors Are Now Live

Nintendo’s Switch Lite is now available for pre-order in multiple colors. The standard machines all cost $199.99 and will be released on September 20th.

Available on launch day will be Gray, Turquoise, and Yellow while a Zacian and Zamazenta Edition (Pokemon Sword and Shield special edition) console will also be on offer.

The launch day ties in with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and is surely set to sell plenty of consoles.

The new Switch Lite is a smaller, lighter, more portable version of the Switch. It’s compatible with Switch accessories including the Joy-Cons and Switch Pro Controller that people are likely using today.

There are downsides however, with the Switch Lite being a portable-only machine. That means that it can’t be connected to a TV for sofa play and if that’s an issue for you the standard Switch is the way to go. The Switch Lite will still charge via USB-C, however.

Nintendo says that the Switch Lite and standard Switch are identical as far as performance is concerned, so there are no concerns to be had there and you definitely won’t be missing out on an upgraded Switch by skipping the Lite.

While the Switch Lite is less costly than the Switch, the older machine can often be found with decent discounts making the price more impressive. It also includes a dock and you can often find bundles with games thrown in, too.
