Tesla has been working on the Supercharger V4 for a while and now it looks like some of the chargers are being installed in the Netherlands.
The new Supercharger V4 design looks like it’s now being installed at a new Supercharger station in Harderwijk and it looks like the chargers themselves are noticeably bigger than the previous generation.
Electrek notes that the new Supercharger V4 chargers are taller and have longer charging cables than the model that came before. And while this new Supercharger station is very much under construction it’s clear that these things are going to be much bigger than what we’re used to. However, because everything is still being built it’s difficult to really see what’s going on beyond the sheer size of the thing.
Electrek adds that the longer cable is a big deal because Tesla Superchargers are now opening up to non-Tesla cars. That means that there could be a wide range in where the charging ports are, which means that longer cables will make it easier to charge more cars.
The report also notes that we should expect to start seeing more of the Supercharger V4 chargers now that the cat is out of the bag. Tesla hasn’t shared a press release to announce the new chargers, but given that the company doesn’t actually have a press team that probably isn’t all that surprising.
