New Tesla Software Update Adds YouTube Music, Amazon Music, And More

Tesla has today started to roll out a newly updated version of its electric vehicle software that adds new music streaming options and a whole lot more.

The new update is being pushed out over-the-air and carries the version number 2024.26. There are a number of new features including support for YouTube Music and Amazon Music, giving subscribers to those music streaming services a new way to listen. Tesla vehicles already support Apple Music, Spotify, Tune In, and Tidal.

Tesla has also added support for new parental controls to allow parents to apply a PIN to their vehicle and set things like a maximum speed limit and more.

You can now enable Parental Controls with a PIN on your vehicle. Set a maximum speed limit and limit acceleration to Chill. Turn on safety features, such as Speed Limit Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Forward Collision Warning. Configure Night Curfew to receive notifications through your Tesla mobile app when the vehicle is driven past curfew.

Other features added in this update include the ability to include sub-destinations like airport terminals as well as adding weather and air quality information to the vehicles’ in-car displays. However, this feature is only available to those who pay for Tesla’s Premium Connectivity subscription service.

Finally, Tesla has added a redesigned menu within the Tesla mobile app for scheduling charging and preconditioning.
