New Report Estimates Apple Park Value At Over $4 Billion

Have you ever wondered just how much Apple Park is worth? No, neither have we, but apparently, the Santa Clara County assessor values it at a cool $4 billion. Who knew?

The reason for the valuation is because Apple has pushed back against other valuations in an attempt to avoid property tax. However, the assessor believes that Apple Park itself is worth around $3.6 billion with all assets including maintenance equipment and machines inside the building pushing it towards $4.17 billion. That’s… a lot of money.

David Ginsborg, deputy assessor for Santa Clara county did say that it was difficult to work out just what everything was worth because so little of it is standard fare. Rather, Apple had much of the building custom-made, which in turn makes valuations difficult.

“I mean, every bit of it is custom,” he said. The intricately designed ring – which incorporates treated glass, and specially designed tiles – is surrounded by pines from the Mojave Desert. “But at the end of the day, it’s an office building,” Ginsborg said. “And so we were able to put a number on it.”

That valuation makes Apple Park one of the most costly buildings on the planet. By comparison, the Great Mosque in Mecca is worth $100 billion, somehow making Apple Park sound like a bargain.

Apple is the largest taxpayer in Santa Clara County despite some people’s beliefs that it should be paying more property tax. Apple, predicable, believes differently.
