The potential arrival of new Macs before the end of the year is something that has been a real rollercoaster so far. Some report that there will be new Macs, others say there won’t.
Now, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says that there will and that they’ll be with us pretty soon.
Gurman was writing in the weekly Power On newsletter when he said that he now believes that Apple could announce an updated 24-inch iMac as well as multiple new MacBook Pro updates.
Those updates could include a new 14-and 16-inch MacBook Pro, but they’re more likely to arrive in the beginning of 2024. There is of course also the 13-inch MacBook Pro expected to arrive at some point, with Gurman suggesting that it might be before the end of the month.
I recently reported that while next-generation MacBook Air models with M3 chips won’t launch until 2024, the company has made headway on new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. You’ll recall that Apple just released MacBook Pros in January, so an additional update the same year would be unusual, but not inconceivable.
Alongside this, Apple is also thought to be working on a new, larger iMac that will likely have a 32-inch display. It isn’t clear what that will offer beyond the new display, but there have been continued rumors of the return of the iMac Pro.
With all of this in mind, it’s possible that at least one new Mac could debut before the month of October comes to a close. We’ll find out soon enough.
