The iPhone 6 is, according to reports, primed and ready to go into mass production from next month, with Foxconn once again having been tasked with assembling the vast majority of those initial units. As far as we know, the handset will take on a curved form factor akin to the iPad Air, and although we can never be 100 percent certain given Apple’s stringent veil of secrecy over the entire design and production progress, the sheer volume of leaks draw an almost irrefutable conclusion. Today, a new leak has surfaced that ties in nicely with everything we’ve heard, and notably, offers the best look at the forthcoming iPhone that we’ve clapped eyes on to date.
Reddit user A_Hard_Goodbye has put up a neat gallery of iPhone 6 mockups on Imgur, and although it’s nothing that we haven’t seen before, this new cluster of images does allow us to get up-close and personal with the elusive device.
Although the shots are in Silver and Space Gray color configurations, we can be all-but certain that a Gold option will also be in the offing when the device releases later on in the year. The announcement of the champagne color option, which has since prompted other smartphone vendors to follow suit, has been a rousing success as the third shade of choice with the iPhone 5s, and as such, its eventual successor is also likely to follow suit.
As you can see from these new images, the iPhone 6 appears much more curved than the more recent additions to the iPhone family, and also promotes design parity with the rest of the iDevice range.
The device depicted here is the 4.7-inch variant, which is also expected to be accompanied by a larger, 5.5-inch option. As mentioned on numerous occasions, each device is set to be beefed up internally by means of an Apple A8 processor, and with an enhanced camera, improved Touch ID fingerprint sensor and a relocated power button, the device will be quite the departure from the Cupertino’s current roster.
Given the images you see here of the iPhone 6, will you be making the purchase later this year? Do share your thoughts below!
