New iPhone 6 Case Leak Indicates New Power Button Location And Design [Photos]

The most noteworthy aspect of the Apple's Next Big Thing is that, from what we've gathered hitherto, "big" will be very much the operative word. It was initially reported that we'd be getting a device packing a 4.7-inch display, and a further, phablet-like model offering a 5.5-inch panel come September, but while the larger model would now appear beset by delay, we've seen even more clues in the past couple of weeks to suggest that the smaller edition is very much in progress.

In bringing a larger design, Apple looks set to make some key alterations to the look and feel of the handset as a whole. The rounded, tapered shape of the back panel - not too unlike the shape of the current iPad range - is set to replace the flatness of the iPhone 5s, and given that the average hand is not likely to grow as much as the iPhone will, there's also talk of the power button moving to the side of the device, making it easier to reach. This change of position would be the a first in the iPhone's illustrious history, and a new case leak via Nowhereelse.fr appears to corroborate this notion once more.

We've already seen one case leak with a gap above the volume buttons for a new power button, although that, suspiciously, also seemed to facilitate a traditional power button at the top.

The new leak also offers yet another reminder of the revised shape that the iPhone 6 will take, although given that there's no verification for this particular insight, it's important not to get too carried away.

What do you guys think - larger display, iPad-esque design; are these features you're looking for in a future iPhone? Check out the photos, and be sure to share your comments below!

A new case leak – perhaps the clearest we’ve seen so far – offers yet another insight into the shape of the so-called iPhone 6, and as well as giving us a glimpse of the rounded design traits, it also shows that the power button could move from the top to the left-hand side of the device.

Even though the iPhone 5s went down well with the vast majority of Apple fans – it did, after all, smash previous first-weekend sales records – there remains a lingering feeling that the time for change is nigh. The iPhone hasn’t deviated a great deal in terms of design since the iPhone 4 landed all the way back in 2010, and while, given the perceived beauty of Apple’s smartphone, there’s not necessarily a burning need to change something that isn’t broken, there’s more than one reason why things could move in significantly with the iPhone 6.
