The Apple-1 is a pretty iconic machine as far as Apple computers go and right now you have the chance to pick up one of your very own. You’ll just need $1.75 million to do it.
Over on eBay, there’s what appears to be an almost mint Apple-1 complete with a custom case and a Sony display. That’s the same display that Steve Jobs himself recommended, so you’re dealing with the real deal here.
The seller says that the authenticity of the Apple-1 has been confirmed by expert Corey Cohen and there are plenty of details about it on the Apple-1 Registry. Given the confirmed provenance of this thing, and the accessories available, you’d expect it to cost more than the standard Apple-1. But with most selling for less than $600,000, we’re just not at all sure this is going to go for anywhere near the asking price.
The seller is at least willing to listen to offers so if you have a million dollars or so free, it might be worth getting in touch. If not, you can just look on with wonder like the rest of us are going to. After all, this is one gorgeous piece of Apple history we’re looking at here.
Maybe if we all pooled our resources, we could buy it together. We’d just need to arrange some kind of timeshare agreement!
