We’ve been seeing multiple rumors suggesting that there will be an iPhone 12 model available in Navy Blue this year, and now DigiTimes has gotten in on the act.
Citing industry sources, the unreliable publication claims that a “dark blue” iPhone 12 is set for launch.
While DigiTimes doesn’t specify, it’s likely that the iPhone 12 in question will actually be the Pro variant, replacing the popular Midnight Green model that debuted with the iPhone 11 Pro.
In addition to adding a dark blue model, for the first time, into the iPhone family products, Apple also brings a number of specification upgrades to new iPhones, including camera modules, displays and communications modules.
We saw talk of a Navy Blue iPhone first crop up in January and it has been a recurring theme ever since. We’ve seen plenty of concepts based on that color and we’re in for a treat if the finished product looks anything as good as those videos and images.
The news that a “dark blue” iPhone is coming was part of a larger piece that claims a smaller number of iPhone 12 models will be shipped this year than iPhone 11 models last year. That’s very likely due to a few factors, not least the fact we’re still in the middle of a global pandemic.
Throw in the fact that the United States continues to bicker with China in a way that could see iOS lose WeChat, and things could be very difficult for iPhone later this year.
