Gaming doesn’t get more mobile than the folks at Gameloft. The company has been making mobile games for what seems like forever, and with the arrival of high-end smartphones and tablets, it has become the go-to place for highly realistic, highly fun games.
Some of those games bear the ‘Modern Combat’ moniker, and Gameloft has today brought the fifth installment of the hugely popular franchise to both iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Windows 8.1, meaning anyone with the required hardware will be able to continue their crusade to shoot anything that moves. The game, who’s full title is ‘Modern Combat 6: Blackout is available to download right now and will cost $8.99.
That price may seem a little steep by the standards that have been created over the last few years. With free games the norm and in-app purchases everywhere you look, it’s refreshing to see a company standing by its wares and determined to charge a fair price for what it has made. From what we’ve seen and read about Modern Combat 5: Blackout, they’re right to, as well.
The game is split into two parts. First, there’s the single player campaign that will see players visit Tokyo and Venice, but it’s the multi-player game that many will live in. With teams easily created and then pitched against other similar teams in a battle to the death. Players will earn XP while they’re in the midst of battle too, so those who like to progress that way will be able to do so.
